Crispy is the only way??

I’ve just finished cooking my breakfast.

A strange combination of 3 rashers of bacon, a handful of raisins and a mug of black coffee.

Weird, I know but it’s a protein and carbs before a workout thing. (quick note: these were not consumed at the same time in the same mouthful, if you know what I mean!)

Obviously, the bacon must be crispy, not done to death but just enough to crisp up the fat, make it crunchy and taste amazing – it’s the only way, right??

Mmmmmmmm bacon!!!

Apparently not.

According to some people bacon needs to be cooked lightly so should not be crispy.

To me this is just crazy, who would ruin perfectly delicious bacon in that way?

It doesn’t make sense.

So, who is right and who is wrong?

The answer is……everyone and no one.

There is no right or wrong answer, everyone is different, we are all individuals with our own unique tastes.

The same can be said for dieting for weight loss – what works for me might not necessarily work for you.

I prefer to eat four to five meals a day, you might only eat twice.

You might want to reduce your calories by eating less carbs, I might want to eat more carbs but reduce my fat intake.

I don’t like to eat as soon as I get up, maybe you do.

Whatever your chosen method, if it works for you then that’s the correct way.

I was asked by someone recently if I provided specific diet plans for clients.

In other words, the guy meant “can you tell me EXACTLY what to eat”

You know what I mean, this kind of thing…

VERY VERY BORING!!

I don’t do this with my clients, never have, never will.

Here’s why:

I’ve seen it time and time again, someone starts following a BORING chicken, plain rice and broccoli diet plan and before you know it they’ve got fed up of eating the same things, lost the will to live and completely given up.

Back to square one.

My method with fat loss clients is to only set calorie and macronutrient targets specific to them and their goals.

I don’t want to give them a quick fix, I want them to learn how to achieve long term, sustainable results.

I guide them along the way by teaching how to make the best choices for them.

By understanding and tracking your calories and macro’s you can eat the foods you love; make changes to your physique AND maintain them

As long as you know what quantities work for YOU.

We’re all individuals after all!
